Summary
1. Manages the ward on a day-to-day basis at the direction of the Ward Manager. Supervises other staff on the shift.2. Co-operates with the Ward Manager to ensure that junior staff participate in professional development programmes and are regularlyappraised.3. Deputise in the absence of the Ward Manager.4. Ensures the confidentiality of their work as outlined in trust policy, the Data Protection Act and NMC guidelines on professional conduct.5. Ensures that junior staff understands the Trusts policies regarding Health & Safety at Work.6. Maintains an effective working knowledge of the Mental Health Act l983 and other related legal and statutory frameworks and subsequentrevisions.Understands, carries out and educates others in the administrative requirements of the Mental Health Act l983. Participates in the planning,preparation for and evaluation of Mental Health Act Commission (MHAC) visits.Interviewer information pack7. To participate in the duty nurse bleep holding rota.8.
