Are you a passionate and adaptable educator looking for a flexible teaching opportunity? We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Food Teacher to provide one-day cover at a welcoming secondary school in Gateshead. Our school is dedicated to delivering engaging and practical learning experiences that inspire students to develop essential life skills.
Your New Role
As a Cover Food Teacher, you will step into a supportive teaching environment for a single day, delivering pre-planned lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and/or 4. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging and structured food technology lessons
- Managing the classroom effectively to ensure a positive learning environment
- Supporting students with practical cooking tasks and safety procedures
- Following the school's policies and safeguarding procedures
- Providing feedback on student progress where appropriate
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A flexible and professional approach to short-term cover
- Awareness of health, safety, and hygiene in a food classroom
