Are you a qualified AMHP with a passion for supporting people in mental health crisis? 3D Recruit is seeking experienced and committed Approved Mental Health Professionals to join a Local Authority in Sutton. This unique hybrid role involves 1–2 days per week on the AMHP rota, with the remaining time spent working within the Mental Health Social Care Team, delivering statutory responsibilities under the Care Act.

Key Responsibilities:
AMHP Duties (1–2 days per week):
Conduct mental health assessments and determine if individuals meet detention criteria under the Mental Health Act 1983.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, police, ambulance services, and other professionals during assessments.
Uphold individuals' rights while making critical decisions regarding detention and treatment.
Arrange admission and safe transport to psychiatric hospitals when necessary.
Ensure full legal compliance during assessments and documentation.
Mental Health Social Care Duties (Care Act responsibilities):
Carry out Care Act assessments and manage complex caseloads involving individuals with mental health needs.
Develop care and support plans focused on recovery, safety, and independence.
Work in partnership with community mental health teams, families, and other services.
Uphold safeguarding duties and advocate for service users' best interests.
Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with local authority standards.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Degree/Master’s in Social Work and current SWE registration.
AMHP qualification with practical experience on the rota.
In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and Care Act 2014.
Strong decision-making and risk assessment skills.
Resilient and calm under pressure, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in adult mental health social work.
