KS1 Teacher - Teach Differently. Make a Bigger Impact.
Trowbridge Campus, Silverwood School
Specialist setting - Full-time - Permanent
Are you ready to teach in a way that truly transforms lives? Silverwood School's Trowbridge Campus is looking for a KS1 Teacher who can think outside the box, meet children where they are, and help them move forward, one meaningful step at a time.
This isn't mainstream. This is education tailored to pupils with autism, communication needs, sensory processing differences, and complex learning profiles. Here, creativity and flexibility aren't just appreciated, they're essential.
You'll lead a small class of up to 8 pupils in Key Stage 1, delivering a highly individualised curriculum. Every lesson is an opportunity to help children connect, communicate, and grow.
Your classroom will be supported by skilled teaching assistants, and you'll work collaboratively with therapists and wider school staff to make learning accessible, engaging, and emotionally safe.
Designing creative, practical learning experiences focused on early communication and emotional development
Using sensory strategies and structure to reduce anxiety and support engagement
Contributing to EHCP targets and celebrating progress in ways that go beyond academic data
Creating a classroom culture where each child feels seen, heard, and supported
Working hand-in-hand with families and your class team to deliver the best possible outcomes
