Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a committed and pupil-centred Head of Year who will uphold our school ethos, providing the young people in their care with the very best in terms of their school experience and the outcomes they take with them into their adult lives. The successful candidate will have high expectations for all, will understand that all behaviours are a form of communication, and will be psychologically responsive to all of these. They should be child-centred and committed to building relationships with students, staff and parents.

This role involves the leadership of a year group along with a team of form tutors; working collaboratively across our Student Support team and supporting with pastoral and academic intervention where needed. You will also work collaboratively with a high-performing pastoral team for Yrs 7-11 including two other Heads of Year plus two teaching Heads of Year, our Family Liaison Officer, Attendance Administrator, Learning Mentor and Pastoral Assistant. Senior line managers are very much part of the team as are our SENCOs, DSLs, our on site Family Support workers, therapeutic social worker and counsellor.

In 2007, Belvedere was the first independent school to become an academy and is continuing the traditions and standards of its predecessor school. We have high expectations of all our students and we support them with excellent pastoral care. Our extensive Enrichment programme allows pupils to develop into well rounded individuals.
