Summary

Automation & Electrical Technician

Salary: £40,830 (Inclusive of shift allowance) rising to £47,435 upon demonstration of site specific competencies + quarterly bonus

Are you an experienced Control & Automation Technician with expertise in PLC systems, SCADA, and industrial instrumentation?

We're looking for a skilled technician to join our Process Control team to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance automation and control systems critical to our manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a fast-paced industrial environment, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

What you will do:

  • Diagnose and resolve faults in PLC, SCADA, and industrial control systems (Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley).
  • Maintain and calibrate instrumentation, control loops, and variable speed drives.
  • Support system upgrades and commissioning of automation equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational efficiency standards.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and operators to optimise performance and reliability.

What you will need:

The Automation & Control Technician will:

  • Be HNC qualified or higher in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering.
  • Hold a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant field.
  • Have hands-on experience with PLC programming and fault-finding (Siemens S7 / Allen Bradley).
  • Hold knowledge of SCADA, HMI, Profibus, and Profinet networks.

Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic industrial environment is essential. Experience with process control systems in heavy industry or manufacturing would be an advantage.
