PGDip Specialist Practice Qualification in Primary and Community Care Community Children's Nursing. This includes an integrated prescribing (V300) qualification and an NMC Specialist Practice Award.

Are you looking to expand your children’s community nursing portfolio of skills and expertise to deliver children’s community nursing or are you a children’s nurse with experience looking for a new challenge and feel that nursing in community settings is for you? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This exciting and funded opportunity is offered by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) and will enable suitably qualified nurses to undertake a PGDip in Primary and Community Care (Community Children’s Nursing) Specialist Practice Award including an integrated prescribing (V300) qualification.

You could be based in any of our four CCN locality teams, which includes: Brighton & Hove, Chichester, Crawley or Lancing. Further details can be discussed at interview.

IMPORTANT:

The University application form will need to be completed once the applicants have been offered a position by SCFT. Details for University application will be provided at interview.

The service provides children’s community nursing for children and young people with long term conditions, complex needs, and palliative care, including end of life care. The children can present with acute illness in addition to requiring skilled nursing intervention to manage highly complex health and developmental needs throughout childhood and at transition to adult services. The CYPCNS works closely with social care, education and third sector organisations.

Starting in September 2025 you will commence a fixed term contract with SCFT and undertake the one year full-time course at the University of Surrey. All educational components of the programme are based at the University of Surrey (Guildford), with your clinical placement based within one of the CCN teams within Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. You will be supported by an experienced CCN Practice Assessor throughout your course.

Successful completion of the course will lead to a NMC Specialist Practice Award, independent nurse prescriber qualification (V300) and a PGDip in Primary and Community Care (Community Children’s Nursing)
