About the Role: Neway International is recruiting for an experienced Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer to join Hillingdon Council. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a vital role in tackling homelessness and supporting vulnerable individuals within the community.

The successful candidate will be part of the Housing Options Rough Sleepers Team, carrying out assessments, prevention work, and relief interventions while managing a diverse caseload. The role requires expertise in Part VII Housing Act 1996, the Homelessness Reduction Act, and other relevant legislation. You will also conduct homelessness enquiries, casework, and draft s184 decision letters.

Key Responsibilities: ✅ Conduct comprehensive homelessness assessments and deliver effective prevention strategies ✅ Provide expert advice and support on housing options to individuals at risk of homelessness ✅ Manage a varied caseload efficiently within a high-pressure environment ✅ Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies ✅ Draft clear and well-structured s184 decision letters ✅ Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support rough sleepers

Requirements: ✔ Proven experience in Housing Advice, Prevention, and Homelessness Assessment ✔ Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Part VII Housing Act 1996 & Homelessness Reduction Act ✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand Housing Options Service ✔ Excellent communication, decision-making, and case management skills ✔ Capability to adapt to flexible working arrangements

Working Arrangements: Flexible working available – office-based 50% of the time after induction Induction period: 2-4 weeks (office-based) Office hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
