The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.
This role is based on site in Old Oak Common, Acton (West London).
You must have right to work in the UK.
Job Description
To manage the installation and delivery of the Electrical, Fire, BMS and Mechanical packages at Old Oak Common station.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing leadership and project management in all facets of the project activities to deliver the project to meet cost, time, and quality requirements
Developing and managing effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately integrated into the project
Working with the client and reporting to the Project Director/ manager, responsible for helping to establish the strategy and delivery for the project
Working in a client facing role, responsible for leading other team members, developing the clients’ strategy, through to assisting in the appointment of the extended professional team of contractors
Developing the clients brief, delivering strategy, and leading the design management, procurement and execution of the scheme
Assisting design review in line with current project applicable HS2, NR, BS, EN and ISO standards and to ensure buildability and constructability. Identify any weakness or errors in the design that could jeopardise the functionality. Ensure HSE best practices are always followed
Manage a 3rd Party installation contractor in delivering BMS and Ventilation installations
Manage the direct delivery teams that will be installing all electrical, fire and piped systems
Manage the programme on a day to day basis and provide reporting back to the project
Work with the commercial team to manage change from an installation perspective
Assist to Ensure risk assessments are compliant with installation parameters
Assist and Liaise with the main Contractor (BBVS), HS2 and HS2’s Designers (WSP) to review comments and agree an efficient way forward with resolving design comments
Assist to Provide engineered solutions to key project problems to satisfy clients expectations, project restrictions and budget considerations
Management of all associated registers, meeting minutes, drawing registers etc. as appropriate inline VVB/Anthro and project requirements. Ensure all formal communication is undertaken and managed (RFI, TQ, EWN, MAR, TD etc)
Assist CAD/BIM team to ensure correct drawing modelling to BIM or other standards. Review drawings for clash detection and associated interface problems
Attend, and participate as required, interdisciplinary design reviews and checks (IDR/IDC)
Assist with development of scope documents for tenders and procurement processes
Driving the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project
Providing input into client system safety and project risk assessment and management process
Development of scope documents for tenders and procurement processes
Liaison with manufacturers to determine product suitability, in partnership with procurement
Attendance at FAT and SAT (and any other required stage) to ensure compliance with requirements
Support, and where required, carry out the Commissioning of Mechanical Systems
Direct liaison with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodology and solve key installation issues/constructability
Working with the planning department to plan design, installation and T&C works. Provision of accurate assessment on forecast works to complete and provide suitable readjustments to ensure project programme is maintained
Management of subcontractor works as appropriate including assisting commercial department in valuation and contract support
Generating Quality Assurance documentation inline with Anthro, HS2 and BBVS project procedures (ITP, QAD’s etc)
Generating SHE documentation inline with Anthro and BBVS procedures (WPP, TBS, RAMS etc)
Support the Assurance team as required to comply with requirements of the HS2 and BBVS procedures
Assisting the Project Director by the timely delivery of key HR activities including appraisals, talent, and succession planning
Qualifications
Significant experience in managing clients, contractors and coordinating stakeholders within the Mechanical and Electrical Sectors
A degree qualification in related subject or equivalent is preferred
Professional memberships of a relevant professional body or working towards membership is an advantage.
Experience of delivery of large infrastructure multi-disciplinary projects (circa £15 – 30M)
Understanding Contracts and contract mechanisms
Managing budgets and forecasting expenditure
Key project processes such as design principals and management, construction processes, procurement, and tendering
qualification in related subject or equivalent is preferred
