What the school offers its staff

The health and wellbeing of our entire school community, including staff, is of utmost importance to us. We have a dedicated Mental Health Lead and a number of employees at the school who are mental health trained to support staff and students alike.

Our Staff Wellbeing Team strive to organise a number of activities in and outside of school, including craft workshops, sports activities, and more. We also have a Workload Wellbeing Team that work to ensure the school is always considerate of staff members’ work-life balance.

We actively encourage staff to take part in the many continuing professional development (CPD) workshops and classes we operate at Penryn College, helping to strengthen and/or develop new skills.

Additionally, we are firm believers in working in partnerships. We have strong links with the University, a long established partnership with a large group of primaries and we are part of the ‘Creativity Collaboratives Programme’, funded by the Arts Council England, testing and evaluating a range of innovative practices in teaching and learning. This has developed our strong, existing relationships with local primary schools and universities, providing many benefits for our staff.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and as such our school aims to create the safest environment within which every student has the opportunity to achieve. In accordance with our policies, we are unable to process applications via CV. Only applications made on a fully completed Penryn College application form will be considered.
