Summary
To be responsible for assessing, implementing and evaluating the care of the critically ill patient. Act as the Clinical Support Nurse on a regular basis, leading and co-coordinating the running of a Pod during a shift. Carry out designated management responsibilities. Support Band 7 senior nurses and the Matron in the supervision and professional development of a defined group of ICU staff. Act as a role model/mentor and assessor to both pre and post-registration learners and junior staff. Provide teaching and actively promote a learning environment for all staff. Contribute to practice development and the delivery of high quality evidence based care. Act as unit co-coordinator in the absence of a senior nurse.
