We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden that is seeking committed and patient 1:1 Teaching Assistants to join their team in September. These roles involve working closely with children in Key Stage 1 and 2 who have been identified with ASD and SEMH, offering tailored 1:1 support throughout the day.
You will be part of a nurturing environment where developing communication, social understanding, and emotional regulation are key goals. The school places a strong emphasis on collaborative working and values classroom support that adapts to meet each child's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering consistent 1:1 support to children with ASD/SEMH
- Supporting with structured activities, transitions, and self-regulation
- Using personalised strategies for behaviour management
- Assisting the class teacher with differentiated planning and progress monitoring
- Leading or assisting in small group instruction when required
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
About You:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, or similar needs is desirable
- Calm, empathetic and consistent in your approach
- Able to follow support plans and work flexibly within the classroom setting
- A psychology or education background is a plus but not essential
