Summary

PMLD Teaching Assistant - North London College

  • Location: North London

  • Hours: 9:00am - 4:00pm

  • Days: 4 days per week

  • Pay: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD)? We're currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-resourced college in North London seeking a dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role:

As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students aged 16+ who have complex needs. Your support will be essential in helping students access learning, develop communication, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD

  • Assisting with personal care

  • Supporting mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs

  • Promoting independence, inclusion, and well-being

  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people or adults with PMLD or similar complex needs

  • Comfortable providing personal care and manual handling

  • Patience, empathy, and a caring nature

  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one

  • Level 3 in English and Maths
