JOB DESCRIPTION
I am currently assisting a Central London based Tier 1 Fitout Contractor with their search for an Assistant Estimator. They work on a vast range of fitout and refurbishment projects across commercial buildings ranging between £5m and £30m. Their work includes cut and carve, complex refurbishment and cat a and cat b works.
The Company
We are looking for either an Estimator or Assistant Estimator to join our team.
As Estimator, you will be working with a team of 5 Estimators of different levels under the Estimating Director, based in the City of London office 4 days a week, and 1 day from home following a successful probation period.
As a business we specialise in Cat A & Cat B Commercial Fit Out, Office refurb & Design & Build, working on projects ranging from £5m to £30m. We are a Multi-Million pound business, having exceeded our £250m turnover goal last year, we are now on track to hit our goal of £300m for 2025, with having secured most of our work for 2025 before it had even started!
Despite our success, we are a business that is focused on profit, not turnover, we are looking for someone who has 10+ years of Estimating experience, working for either a Main Contractor or Fit Out Contractor, to join our team and help take us to the next level!

You'll:
- Prepare all financial elements and components of the tendering process from identification and authorisation to proceed to financial handover and beyond
- Assist the bidding team with any post tender negotiations as required
- Maintain accurate benchmarking data from completed tenders and secured projects
- Liaise with Procurement with regards to subcontractor selection and potential further opportunities on price betterment.
- Assist Senior Estimator in pricing various projects
We're looking for:
- 3+ years experience
- Background in EITHER/OR fit out, main contracting, house builder
- Skilled in using Estimating software, such as Conquest, Causeway Estimating, CostX or similar
- Demonstrable experience of liaising/working with Sub-contractors and Suppliers to produce robust estimates
- Demonstrable experience of issuing/receiving tender queries.
