This newly created role will be pivotal in driving operational improvements, enhancing financial effectiveness, and ensuring compliance during a period of strategic change for the business.

Our client's preference is to get someone in as soon as possible on a fixed-term contract to the end of the year initially - at which point they will review progress and extension possibilities. Preference for the client is a fixed-term contract for 7 months initially and the client has budgeted the role up to £100,000. For exceptional candidates, the client may consider day-rate contract options & there is flexible working also available (2 days a fortnight required on site).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead critical workstreams across Finance Transformation, with a particular focus on lease accounting (IFRS 16) and process optimisation.
  • Act as the bridge between Finance, IT, and Project teams to align on key deliverables.
  • Support system and reporting improvements, including data quality, process automation, and control design.
  • Engage and influence senior stakeholders across the business to embed sustainable change.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance, audit, and accounting standards.

Ideal Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong track record in Finance Transformation, ideally within mid-large corporates or complex organisations.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting is essential.
  • Confident communicator, able to work with senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.
