TeacherActive is looking for flexible and dedicated Nursery Assistants to join our team, supporting a variety of nurseries and early years settings across Chelmsford.

About the Role:

As a Nursery Assistant, you'll be working on a contract basis, providing support to local nurseries when and where you’re needed. This role offers the opportunity to work part-time or full-time, depending on your availability, giving you flexibility while building valuable experience in childcare.

You’ll be helping to create a warm, nurturing environment where children can feel safe, learn, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the day-to-day running of nursery rooms

  
  

• Supporting children in play, learning, and development activities

  
  

• Maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging environment

  
  

• Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents

  
  

• Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures

  
  What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for working with children

    
    

  • Previous childcare experience (formal or informal)

    
    

  • A positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills

    
    

  • Flexibility to work in different settings

    
    

  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
