Summary

Are you enthusiastic, motivated and interested in environmental matters? If you are we have an excellent opportunity within the Sustainability and Natural Environment Team. We are looking to recruit a Sustainable Travel Officer to work with the Team on cycling and walking projects. We have a fixed-term position for 2 years, with the possibility of becoming permanent depending on funding.


About the role
The Sustainable Travel Officer role is an exciting opportunity to be involved in delivering cycling and walking projects across the county. The post will involve working on developing plans for new cycling and walking routes, delivery of behaviour change programmes and the development of cycling and walking strategies for key settlements around the county. The Council already has in place a series of behaviour change, capability and active travel investment projects and this role is an opportunity to further develop the programme. This role will be largely hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office a minimum of once a week.

About You
The ideal candidate will be able to evidence and demonstrate the following qualities and skills:

• Qualifications: Hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related subject, or have significant relevant experience demonstrating continual professional development.

• Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills at all levels, enabling effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

• Technical Proficiency: Be proficient in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Attitude: Exhibit a positive, can-do attitude, with a proactive approach to tackling challenges and achieving goals.
