Our Housing Standards team is a collaborative unit made up of five key areas of housing expertise: construction, repairs, improvements, contract management, and safety. Each team is composed of qualified, skilled, and experienced trade operatives, surveyors, and contract supervisors.
The role:
We are seeking a proactive and pragmatic Site Manager to join our Housing Standards team during a pivotal period of transformation. This newly created role is essential to ensuring our housing assets meet all statutory and regulatory requirements, both now and in the future.
Internally this role is known as Housing Standards Team Leader.
As a Site Manager, you will:
Lead and motivate a locality-based team, ensuring high standards of behaviour, quality, and safety.
Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of construction services.
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety policies, and safe working practices.
Review and update RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and monitor performance across all site operations.
Deliver programmes in line with the Council’s Housing Service Plans and Strategies.
What you will bring:
A strong understanding of social housing best practices, including tenant safety and the Decent Homes Standard.
Proven experience in delivering high-quality housing repair works.
Excellent customer service and communication skills (both written and verbal).
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.
A track record of managing change and driving continuous improvement.
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
· Level 6 NVQ in Construction Site Management
· Black CSCS Card
· IOSH Certification
· SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
