We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (Level 2) to work in partnership with our teachers and support the learning of individuals and small groups of pupils across the school. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping pupils access learning, adjusting and adapting planned activities in response to their needs, and ensuring that every child feels supported, included, and valued.

This role includes implementing planned learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff, contributing to the planning and evaluation of those activities, and providing constructive feedback on pupil progress and behaviour. You will also help prepare and organise learning resources, support the use of behaviour and engagement strategies, and work closely with pupils who have additional needs.

You will be expected to communicate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals, and to promote the school’s values and ethos in all aspects of your work. In this role, you may also be asked to support the induction and supervision of volunteers or other support staff.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy school environment, enjoys working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, and is eager to help children overcome barriers to learning.

We are looking for someone who is committed, positive and proactive, with a strong understanding of how to support children’s learning in a primary school setting. You should have experience working with children in an educational environment, ideally including experience supporting pupils with additional needs. A suitable Level 2 qualification, such as a Teaching Assistant Certificate or NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is essential.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a caring, empathetic approach to working with children. You must be articulate, numerate, and confident using ICT. You should be able to show patience, enthusiasm, and flexibility, and be willing to work both independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of safeguarding, equality and inclusive practice is essential, as is a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
