Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Grounds Person SO1 to join our team and oversee the maintenance and management of our outdoor spaces. This role is critical to ensuring that our grounds are not only aesthetically pleasing but also safe and functional for all users. As the Head Grounds Person, you will be responsible for implementing landscaping plans, managing planting schedules, and ensuring the health of all vegetation on the premises. You will lead a team of grounds staff, providing training and guidance to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Collaboration with other departments will be key to this role, as you will work closely with event coordinators and facilities management to prepare outdoor areas for various activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and managing a budget for grounds maintenance, ensuring that all work is completed within financial constraints. Your leadership will be essential in promoting a culture of excellence and attention to detail within the grounds team. Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of grounds maintenance including landscaping, planting, and lawn care.
Manage a team of grounds staff, providing training and supervision to ensure effective operations.
Develop and implement grounds maintenance plans and schedules in accordance with seasonal changes.
Monitor and manage the health of all vegetation, addressing any pest or disease issues promptly.
Collaborate with other departments to prepare outdoor spaces for events and activities.
Maintain and manage budgets for grounds maintenance and submit reports on expenses.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all maintenance work conducted on the grounds.
Requirements
Proven experience in landscaping, horticulture, or ground maintenance.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
Excellent knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care, and landscaping techniques.
Ability to develop maintenance plans and schedules based on seasonal requirements.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with various departments and stakeholders.
Experience with budget management and cost-effective maintenance strategies.

Pay Per Hour: £20.86
