We are looking for an Asbestos Surveyor to support our Surveying team based in the Devon area.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertaking refurbishment and demolition (R&D) surveys and management surveys across our stock.
- The production of asbestos survey reports in accordance with HSG 264.
- Amend stock data held within the asset management system.
- Attend emergency situations, both during and outside normal working hours.
- Assist in the preparation of statistics, reports and information as may be required.
- Ensure that effective customer consultation in respect of survey work is undertaken, including attending residents meetings when required.

This role is being offered on a full time, 12 month fixed term basis, working 37 hours per week. This is a field based role in the Devon area.

About The Candidate
To be considered for the role of Asbestos Surveyor, you will have the essential skills, knowledge and experience for a Level 1 role (please see our candidate information pack) and the following role specific experience:
Essential:
- BOHS P402.
- Experience carrying out surveys on asbestos TEAMS application.
- Experience of undertaking property surveys working on a similar level within an RSL, local or public authority, or private practice.
- Experience of undertaking refurbishment and demolition and management surveys.
- Experience of carrying out asbestos inspections within homes and communal areas.
- Domestic dwelling surveying experience from a technical perspective, demonstrating significant understanding of the built environment.
- Clear and demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety and Asbestos legislation pertaining to the construction industry including HHSRS.
Desirable:
- BOHS P405.
- Degree in role related subject.
- CIOB/CIH/RICS equivalent qualification in property surveying.
- Practical experience of working in the construction industry and or in the social housing sector.
- Full understanding of the Decent Homes Standard as well as the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
