A bit about me:
I am a 52-year-old capable lady who has hypersensitivity caused by whiplash and an acquired brain injury. I am looking for a kind and patient Assistant who has the flexibility and time to support me when I need transport to attend appointments, visit friends and shopping etc. I will need help with lifting shopping, finding places, errands to buy/collect things etc and also some help with basic IT and help in the home. I find some sounds and light difficult and some situations overwhelming so someone who is sympathetic and forward thinking would be an advantage.
About the role:
I need someone to support me with driving me to appointments/nice countryside/friends, shopping, help in the home etc. Ideally I would like someone who is a confident, careful, steady driver with access to their own vehicle. Something like a people carrier or SUV type would be ideal as I can find many smaller vehicles difficult due to my injuries. On some journeys I would need to take my well-behaved dog, Tigger. She is happy to travel in the footwell or the boot. Some potential extra hours at times may be available.
The kind of person I am looking for:
I am looking for someone who is friendly and approachable.
Responsible, reliable, and trustworthy.
Good communication and social skills.
To respect confidentiality and privacy and be sensitive to my needs.
To understand that dignity and independence are important.
Be willing to learn about my needs and able work on your own initiative.
