Summary

Traffic Management Officer
Job description
37 hours per week

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to provide expertise and support to the Traffic and Transportation Team within the County Borough.

Be able to investigate and reply to complaints and enquiries from members of public, Councillors, and external bodies relating to traffic management matters.

Be responsible for identifying and implementing new or amended traffic orders, including consultation requirements, preparing draft traffic orders for legal and ensuring implementation on site.

Having an excellent standard of literacy necessary for compiling briefs for both internal and external consultants relating to traffic management and road safety related functions.

An excellent grasp of Traffic management related guidelines for road safety, traffic signs and appropriate legislation.

Possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, the successful applicant will be expected to attend locations within the County Borough and represent the Authority at external meetings.

Be able to interpret collision data in order to identify trends and any safety matters that may require addressing as a result.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

The council’s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.

A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.

A Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.
