Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the screening team on our Chelsea site for a 12 month period.
The Screening Coordinator - Antenatal and Newborn (ANNB) screening specialist midwife is responsible for the coordination of the national ANNB screening programmes at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. This varied role requires a good understanding of the screening programmes and the ability towork autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team, prioritise conflicting demands and use a wide range of IT systems.
The ANNB screening team oversee all screening tests in line with national guidance and manage antenatal screen positive results. This includes providing information and support to women/birthing people and their partners who are making complex decisions about diagnostic tests which may result in termination of pregnancy.
The post holder will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical member of the Midwifery team. They will have significant clinical experience, provide sound clinical expertise to ensure delivery of high quality, safe, and compassionate evidence based care. They will work closely with others to ensure that care delivery takes place in a suitable and safe environment to support the physical and psychological wellbeing of staff, women, birthing people and families.

· Responsible for the coordination of the national ANNB screening programmes at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
· Clinical leadership for the sickle cell and thalassaemia, fetal anomaly (trisomy) and newborn blood spot screening programmes at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
· Contact for external queries about local ANNB screening services and pathways.
· Represent Trust at regional NHSE ANNB screening meetings.
· Ensure a high standard of care is delivered in accordance with current policies and procedures for women, birthing people and their babies.
· Monitor and maintain good standards of care, implementing recommendations from Government and professional bodies in relation to maternity care.
