Summary

Your new company
A large and growing company based in Birmingham City Centre is currently recruiting for a new Management Accountant on a permanent basis. In the role, you will be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller and lead the production, reporting, and commentary of central overhead accounts throughout the month-end cycle. You will also play an active role in the quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy and strategic alignment.
Your new role

  • Prepare and post month-end journals and accruals for designated central overhead departments.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts, ensuring timely resolution of all reconciling items.
  • Identify areas of concern and collaborate with the Financial Controller to determine appropriate actions, working closely with department heads.
  • Partner with the Financial Controller to deliver precise and timely overhead commentary, analysing key cost drivers against budget, forecast, and prior year figures.
  • Assist with audit queries and analysis, both internally and externally.
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller with system upgrades, implementation and project governance and controls.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part Qualified Accountant at the Final stage of (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Confident with all areas of management account analysis
  • Good analytical skills and a high attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build healthy working relationship with business stakeholders.
  • IT literate with intermediate Excel skills
