The role:

A proactive and experienced Customer Services Officer is needed to handle phone calls on behalf of the Council on a wide range of services and to support the Customer Enabling Service in the delivery of a range of complex customer service functions and digital interface responsibilities.

You will receive and resolve detailed enquiries from customers and service users to ensure an effective and responsive service.



Key requirements:

Act as an advocate by collaborating with internal and external partners to exceed customer expectations and meet service standards
Provide clear information and guidance across multiple channels (face-to-face, phone, email, web chat, social media) to resolve enquiries at first contact
Collect customer insights through surveys, calls, and interviews to support service improvement and strategy delivery
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Council, effectively resolving or triaging enquiries and supporting events and campaigns
Escalate complex issues appropriately and ensure all interactions meet service standards while influencing positive customer outcomes

Ability to build and nurture positive customer relationships, managing tough situations with calm professionalism
Excellent customer service skills
Skilled in Microsoft Office for document creation, data management, and information upkeep
