Summary

We are looking for a positive and proactive person with a high level of compassion, willing to provide pastoral support to over 100 service personnel. We will encourage you to establish a positive relationship with both the individuals that require assistance and the organisation's hierarchy. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a wealth of experience in Military Personnel Administration and welfare, developing skills whilst also making a real difference to the lived experience of our service personnel.

It is vital that the role holder keeps up to date with policies as they are published and has a strong desire to research and find information. Covering all aspects of Military Administration requires an understanding of multifaceted source documents. Squadron personnel have limited access to computers, it is the Senior Administrator’s responsibility to ensure they are provided with guidance and direction.

Key responsibilities:

The Senior Administrator has management responsibility for one Administration Officer.
You will work alongside military personnel, civil servants, and contractors.
Travel to our other sites (Corsham and Aldershot) may be required along with attendance at residential training facilities. This could require overnight stays within the UK.
Assist personnel and guide the chain of command on all administrative matters, including military reports (MS), Personnel Vetting Records Officer (PVRO), resettlement information, applications for passports and provision of squadron briefs.
Subject Matter Expert on expenses and allowances, providing Service Personnel with assistance when submitting claims or booking duty travel, including relocation.
Ensuring governance at the Squadron level, reporting back to the Regimental Admin Officer (RAO) who has overarching responsibility for the Regiment. This is achieved through a mixture of Management checks and day to day advice to personnel as issues arise.
There is a small finance element to the post with day-to-day oversight of Squadron Funds and Welfare grants. This will involve working closely with the wider Garrison Support team and provides the candidate with the opportunity to network and establish links outside of the Squadron.
As the Regimental Welfare Officer works out of Corsham, assist with Welfare support to Service Personnel and their families. Including welfare arrivals interviews, monitoring of the Sqn welfare multi user email account and other tasks. There will also be a requirement to hold a duty phone with some silent hours “on call” responsibility.

(Remote working within this role is something that can be discussed at interview stages or with your future line manager if you are found successful.)
