Fit Out & Refurb Quantity Surveyor | Manchester | Full Time, Freelance | £50,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE
Our client is proud to be a leading commercial construction company and fit-out contractor in Manchester, with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality projects across the UK.
They are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor with significant experience and understanding of the UK Commercial Fit Out & Refurbishment sector. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with full project delivery including estimating and contract negotiation. Responsibilities will also include quantifying, purchasing and procurement of materials and sub-contractors, as well as overseeing project cost control and final account agreements.
Are you the right person for the job?
• A full UK driving license
• A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• 5 years proven experience in quantity surveying within the fit-out and refurbishment sectors
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and tools
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations
What will your role look like?
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for potential projects
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for fit-out and refurbishment projects
• Review and analyse contractor bids and proposals
• Monitor project progress, costs, and timelines, providing regular reports to stakeholders
• Review and analyse contractor bids and proposals
• Provide advice on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify quantities of materials used
• Prepare monthly progress reports and financial statements
• Manage the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier selection
• Oversee contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and managing variations
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and all members of the project team
• Work closely with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met
