We are looking for Senior IT Service Managers to join our Children's Live Service Team and The Child Maintenance Service team to undertake ambitious modernisation programme to help shape our digital services for the future.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Extensive experience and proven track record in building and developing effective working relationships with senior Business and IT managers.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of managing large quality IT Services and /or Tooling platforms in Live.
  • Proven ability and experience of delivering at pace and injecting continual service improvement, ensuring Live Service stability at all times.
  • Influential with experienced leadership skills to be able to make effective decisions whilst effectively leading and inspiring individuals and teams to deliver IT service excellence.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical experience of ITIL or other service management framework.

You and your role

As a Senior IT Service Manager you will be ensuring implementation of excellent Service Management across products and services that are critical to making sure that DWP can get money and support to children across the UK.

You will be required to build effective relationships with key stakeholders acting as a key point of contact for the product/services team for any arising issues.

You will participate in investigation of Major Incidents, providing direction on engagement with Business, analysis or testing to validate issues or proposals.

You will be responsible for ensuring the effective monitoring and, progression of end-to-end Live service performance, and quality issues across the portfolio.

Location: You'll join us in our brilliant digital hub in Newcastle.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and sometime collaborating face to face in a hub.

Pay: We offer pay of up to £66,058.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £16,094 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days and rising to 31 days over time.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
