About the Role:

This is a multi-functional role suited to someone who thrives in a busy environment and is confident handling a wide variety of tasks. The successful candidate will support the finance function by maintaining accurate accounting records, preparing regular reports, and assisting with day-to-day finance operations. Flexibility, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills are essential, as you’ll be required to meet regular deadlines and respond to frequent requests from the sales team and senior management.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Accountant:

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the accuracy of all accounting ledgers and support the production of management reports. Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Process and reconcile sales and purchase invoices, credit notes, receipts, and expenses
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier account records
- Assist with credit control and liaise with customers regarding payments
- Prepare and distribute financial reports, including sales, stock, and cash flow
- Perform regular reconciliations, including bank, petty cash, and intercompany accounts
- Support month-end processes such as accruals and prepayments
- Contribute to audit preparation and provide cover for other finance team members as needed

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage X3 (advantageous)
