We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for an Attendance Officer to join our Health & Social Care department. This role is pivotal in promoting student punctuality and addressing attendance concerns, contributing to the overall improvement of attendance and punctuality through effective partnerships with students, parents, and colleagues. As an integral part of our thriving academic community, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of engagement and accountability.

What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Attendance Officer, you will:
Work as part of a team to provide pro-active and assertive support to students to overcome barriers to maximise their attendance and punctuality to ensure achievement and progression.
Devise and undertake a range of strategies to improve student attendance.
Be the main point of contact in relation to student punctuality and attendance issues for an allocated department.
Work closely with Heads/Associate Directors of Quality and Personal Tutors to implement effective strategies and ensure there is the necessary interchange of information and consistency of systems and procedures to ensure that each student feels supported.
Contact (by telephone / email / letter) students and their parents / carers following absence.

What We’re Looking For:
We seek candidates who:
Have achieved Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent)
Possess qualifications in Microsoft Office (desirable)
Have experience working with and supporting vulnerable and at-risk young people and their families
Have managed complex caseloads effectively
Have previous experience working with young people in an educational setting, with a strong background in coaching, mentoring, and providing effective student support
