Summary
The service works from a brand new BREEAM outstanding environmentally friendly depot called Layard House.
The role involves providing all of the business support you would expect from a busy front-line service with 145 employees. You will be required to ensure the service can successfully deliver it objectives for the Council and our tenants. The postholder will report to the Business Support Team Leader but will work closely with all managers and the Head of Service.
The post holder will also assist with the day-to-day operational management of the depot and work with colleagues in our Waste & Fleet teams to ensure the depot is maintained and serviced to the exemplary standards expected.
The role is five days a week, 37 hour (Monday through to Friday) and is based at Layard House, 11 New Way, Ipswich. IP2 OFA. You may be required to work at other locations such as the Council’s head office, Grafton House, on occasions. The Council operates a flexible working policy but due to the nature of this role, which often requires a hands on approach, it is anticipated, you will be expected to work office based at Layard House, not less than three days a week.
Building or facilities related experience would be desirable.
Experience in quality management systems, processes and procedures would be extremely beneficial.
You will be expected to work on your own initiative and be confident to make your own decisions, communicate to a wide audience and guide and advise both employees and external contractors where necessary.
Hours of work are 37 per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a hybrid working role (a minimum of 3 days per week working in the office).
