Summary

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your career in finance? Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Business Support Accountant. ​

As an Assistant Business Support Accountant, you will play a key role in providing expert support and analysis for the Council’s services. This role primarily supports the Housing Revenue Account (HRA), Shared Revenues Partnership and repairs & maintenance programme. ​ You assist a Business Support Accountant to help ensure the Council meets its financial obligations, key objectives ​and critical deadlines.

We will be looking to appoint to either level depending on skills and experience.

If appointed to level 1 the council requires that you obtain the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT). Full study support towards this qualification will be provided within a given time period.

If appointed to the level 2 of the career grade we expect you to hold the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), and support Business Support Accountants with the council’s monthly budget monitoring process. As well as being a trusted advisor by providing high quality budgetary advice to the services you will support to create a real and active working relationships with both operational and management.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing assistance to Business Support Accountants.
Reconciliations.
Budgetary Control.
Day to day duties in relation to the integrated financial system.
