Applications are invited for the posts of Clinical Fellow (Core) in General Medicine (various specialties) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

There are various rotational posts available which may include the following specialties: Acute Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Haematology, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases, Medicine for the Elderly, Orthogeriatics and Respiratory.

These posts are available from 06 August 2025 until 04 August 2026.

As well as providing you with experience of working in a ward environment within a specific specialty in Medicine, these posts will also offer you the opportunity to experience working as part of a busy medical take team based in the Emergency Department. A significant amount of senior support is available which greatly contributes to the educational value of these shifts, and enables completion of workplace-based assessments in Acute Care.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the person specification and have:

• Completion of Foundation Competencies.

• A minimum of basic medical training of 18 months

• A minimum 6 months of NHS service.

Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

This post may be suitable for those wishing to undertake an “F3” role.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.
