Summary

Exciting Career Opportunity in Cardiology Nursing

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated nurses—whether newly qualified or experienced—to join our team and develop their careers in the dynamic field of cardiology. This role offers the chance to deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional cardiac procedures within a supportive and innovative environment.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, forward-thinking, flexible, and possess excellent communication skills. You should be a team player committed to providing outstanding care and fostering an inclusive, open, and supportive atmosphere for both patients and staff.

As part of this role, you will gain comprehensive skills across multiple settings, including caring for patients pre- and post-cardiac interventional procedures on Ward 1, assisting in the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, and working in the Cardiac Pre-Op and Dobutamine Stress Echo clinics. The position involves participation in our 24/7 out-of-hours on-call service and requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

If you are passionate about cardiology nursing and eager to develop your expertise in a forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you.

Using your clinical expertise, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care for patients before and after cardiac procedures on the ward. You will perform nursing interventions grounded in evidence-based practice, applying your knowledge and skills to meet individual patient needs. Additionally, you will rotate to the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, where you will complete competencies to assist with interventional procedures, as well as have opportunities to rotate through the Cardiac Pre-Op Clinic and Dobutamine Stress Echo Clinic to develop skills in nurse-led consent and DSE procedures.

The role requires excellent communication skills to deliver sensitive information, lifestyle advice, and post-procedure care with compassion and professionalism. You will also play a key role in the education, supervision, and assessment of learners and unregistered staff, supporting the ongoing development of the team. In addition, you will contribute to meeting clinical governance standards and participate in audit reviews, always upholding the standards outlined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

Working primarily Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 20:45, you may also be required to work weekends, bank holidays, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rota. We are seeking reliable team players with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively manage their workload in a fast-paced environment.
