Summary

Service Manager

Location: Harpenden

Basic Salary: Up to £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30 (occasional Saturday cover)

An excellent opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to join an Approved Jaguar Land Rover Service Centre. You'll lead the service department, drive performance, ensure customer satisfaction, and maintain the highest standards of aftersales care in line with Jaguar Land Rover expectations.

Key Responsibilities of a Service Manager:

• Lead and manage the service department team, including technicians, advisors, and workshop control
• Monitor departmental performance and implement strategies to meet revenue, efficiency, and customer satisfaction targets
• Ensure compliance with Jaguar Land Rover brand standards and service protocols
• Oversee workshop scheduling and capacity planning for optimal productivity
• Handle escalated customer queries and maintain excellent client relationships
• Collaborate with the Parts Manager and Sales team to ensure cohesive operations
• Recruit, train, and develop staff in line with business and manufacturer objectives
• Regularly report performance metrics to senior management

Skills and Qualifications for a Service Manager:

Essential

• Proven experience as a Service Manager in a franchised dealership or premium service environment
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills
• Solid understanding of workshop processes, KPIs, and service department financials
• Familiarity with DMS platforms and Jaguar Land Rover systems (e.g. Topix, Pathfinder)

Desirable:

• Experience with the Jaguar Land Rover brand
• IMI or manufacturer-accredited management qualifications
• Experience with aftersales marketing and customer retention strategies
