In this role, you'll be supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs (including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges) helping them to feel safe, thrive in the classroom, and grow in confidence.

Additional Needs Teaching Assistant Role Details:

Location: King's Lynn, Norfolk
Position: Additional Needs Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday - Friday (08:30am - 3.30pm)
Salary: £13.80 - £15/hour (includes 12.07% holiday pay)
Contract: Temp to Perm

Your Role as a Additional Needs Teaching Assistant Will Include:

Support that counts - Build strong, positive relationships with students, offering consistent support that helps them feel safe, respected, and motivated.

Encouraging independence - Help students develop life skills and self-confidence, while maintaining clear and positive expectations for behaviour.

Creative learning support - Assist in delivering creative, personalised learning that's both engaging and meaningful.

Teamwork in action - Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to keep the day running smoothly and support every pupil's progress.

Be ready for anything - Every day is different, so flexibility and a 'let's do this' attitude are essential.

Whole-child approach - Support the social, emotional, behavioural, and cognitive development of every student; because learning is about the whole person.

What We're Looking For in an Additional Needs Teaching Assistant:

English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent)
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (or willingness to learn)
Experience with additional needs or challenging behaviours is a big bonus
Access to transport or a reliable way to get to King's Lynn
Full right to work in the UK - we can't offer sponsorship, unfortunately
