Lead Nurse – Mental Health & Learning Disabilities | RMN or RNLD
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Nurse (RMN or RNLD) to join their dedicated team at a tranquil, purpose-built hospital providing specialist care for individuals with mental health conditions, eating disorders, and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
Set within beautiful, restorative surroundings, the service focuses on delivering person-centred care and supporting long-term recovery through a structured, therapeutic approach. This is a fantastic opportunity for a clinical leader ready to take the next step in their career within a values-driven organisation.
As Lead Nurse, you will support the clinical management of the ward, lead by example in delivering high-quality, compassionate care, and act as a key role model to the wider multidisciplinary team. The role includes a mix of clinical responsibilities and leadership duties to ensure the best outcomes for patients and staff.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration
- Minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience in a relevant clinical setting
- Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act, safeguarding, and the Care Programme Approach (CPA)
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop others in a team environment
- A patient-focused, resilient, and professional approach to care delivery
Why Work Here?
Our client is committed to supporting their staff as much as their patients. You can expect:
- Competitive annual leave package
- Free onsite parking
- Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 wellbeing support
- Subsidised meals while on duty
- Paid NMC renewal fees
- Long service awards and recognition programmes
- Support with CPD, training, and clear career progression pathways
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the nursing team in the delivery of safe, person-centred care
- Oversee care planning, risk management, and documentation in line with clinical best practices
- Act as a point of escalation and clinical guidance on shift
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and therapeutic environment for service users and colleagues
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals
- Support the development and performance of junior staff through supervision and mentoring
- Ensure compliance with NMC standards, safeguarding procedures, and regulatory requirements
If you're an experienced RMN or RNLD ready to step into a leadership role in a nurturing and progressive mental health service, this could be your next opportunity.
Apply today to join a compassionate team making a lasting impact.
