Position Overview
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey
Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 15:15 (Term Time Only)
Pay Rate: £84.05 - £90 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)
Contract Type: Long-term / Temp-to-Perm
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive within a nurturing school environment. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and wider school staff to support each child's individual learning and emotional development. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering tailored support for children with special educational needs, both in and out of the classroom
- Assisting with implementing and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Supporting pupils through daily routines, transitions, and classroom tasks
- Helping to create engaging and inclusive learning materials
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of pupil progress and achievements

- A reliable and enthusiastic approach to supporting children
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential
