Summary
COVER SUPERVISOR 33.75 hours per week 8.15am to 3.30pm
Grade 5, £25,584 pro rata to £19,983 (pay award pending) Term time only plus INSET days
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team at The Academy, Selsey. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to contribute to a dynamic and supportive school environment.
About the Role As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
* Supervise classes during teacher absences, delivering work set by teaching staff
* Maintain a focused and positive classroom environment, ensuring learning continues
* Record attendance and report back on student conduct and lesson outcomes
* Support departmental admin, tutor time, break duties, exam invigilation, and wider school life Contribute to the organisation and delivery of displays, trips, and extracurricular events When not supervising lessons, you'll play a key role in supporting learning across the school and will be an important member of our cover team.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals who:
* Have experience working with children or young people (education, youth work, etc.)
* Are confident managing a classroom and maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment
* Communicate effectively and empathetically with students
* Are IT literate and can support classroom systems
* Are enthusiastic, organised, and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
A formal contract will be issued once the successful applicant has been appointed. It will be offered subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and appropriate references.
