Summary
Educate-Group are supporting a large secondary school based in Shropshire. We are urgently recruiting for a qualified HLTA or ECT - ideally looking to join a thriving and greatly improved school. As a HLTA or ECT you will have experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs and will work with small groups of pupils within a newly built Alternative Provision site. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a successful and highly committed team, where progression will be available for the right candidate.
You will be passionate, inspiring and able to form great working relationships with students who need to re-engaged with their learning. Strong classroom management skills, communication skills are required.
Responsibilities:
• Planning, preparation and delivery of lessons specific to your learning group
• Monitoring and assessing progress
• Reporting on pupils achievements and development
• Take a lead role in supervision and attend to personal needs
• Establish constructive relationships with parents/ carers as agreed by the class teacher
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of pupils
• Use special skills, experience to / training to assess the needs of pupils and to support their learning
• Arrange and develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with pupils
You will provide support for the Teacher and work collaboratively as a team.
The role is to commence in September 2025 and is full time, term time only. You must be qualified to Level 4 or equivalent. This position would also be perfect for a recently qualified teacher looking to take that first step into a nurturing, pastoral environment.
