Clackclose Pre-School is based in the Early Childhood and Family Service Centre in Downham Market, Norfolk. A registered charity run by a Committee and rated as Ofsted Good.
Position
We are looking for a highly motivated and caring individual to lead our experienced team across two classrooms, providing high quality care and education for children aged 2 – 4 years.
Key Responsibilities
The day to day management of the Pre-School, including staff management, planning and some administration.
Supervision of staff within the setting
To manage staffing levels within the Setting to comply with required ratios
To ensure staff comply at all times to the Setting’s policies, procedures and standards
To fulfil the duties of the Safeguarding Designated Officer
To be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures
To ensure the Pre-School’s high standards are met and children receive high quality care and education
To ensure the EYFS is promoted and its principles are adhered to
Liaise with the Pre-School Administrator to ensure all paperwork is up to date
Liaise with parents/carers, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given
To manage the development and implementation of systems to monitor and record child development
Establishing and maintaining effective communications links with the Local Authority and other professional bodies associated with the Setting
Key person which includes observing, extending children's learning and planning appropriately using the EYFS.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years post qualifying experience (required)
A minimum of 1 years management experience (required)
Education
A minimum of a level 3 recognised childcare qualification (required)
Safeguarding Lead Practitioner certificate (desirable, training will be provided)
First Aid certificate (desirable, training will be provided)
Safer recruitment (desirable, training will be provided)
SEND (desirable, training will be provided)
Completion of courses in effective supervision / management (desirable, training will be provided)
Health & Safety certificate (desirable, training will be provided)
Post: Class room based Pre-School Manager
Full time, permanent, term time only
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.45am – 3:15pm
32.5 hours per week
38 weeks per year plus 4 weeks paid holiday (to be taken during school holidays)
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: £15.00 per hour
