Summary
Job Title: Warehouse/Distribution Team Leader
Location: Birchington, Kent (you MUST drive and have your own transport due to location and shift times)
Salary: £DOE
Hours: 4 on 2 off 6am - 3pm
**PLEASE NOTE**
You will be required to work on the back shift (3pm-12am) for a three-month period during the year
You will also be required to work an additional 16 shifts throughout the year to cover the other Team Leader.

As they continue to expand they are seeking a dynamic and skilled Team Leader to join and lead their Distribution facility.
Role Summary:
As a Team Leader you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our distribution facilities. You will lead a team of skilled workers, oversee day-to-day operations and contribute to the growth of their business.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
Coach and develop the team to consistently meet performance standards.
Plan work patterns in conjunction with the Distribution Shift Manager.
Work collaboratively across departments, coordinating activity to meet daily objectives.
Regularly engage with MSOs to ensure understanding of the role and contribution to the success of the business.
Deputise for the Distribution Shift Manager as and when required.
Coordinate the receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of fresh produce and other goods.
Monitor daily operations to ensure accurate order fulfilment and timely distribution.
Establish, maintain and develop the training programmes to ensure staff are competent to carry out their duties.
Ensure service levels are maintained by managing, planning and organising resource to load/unload vehicles.
Discus with colleagues where necessary, to highlight/advise necessary working practice changes.
Manage the warehouse areas to monitor space, equipment and tidiness.
Service all production lines with produce, trays, and pallets as required.
Experience and skills required for this position:
A minimum of one year’s experience in a FMCG/fresh produce/warehouse supervisory role.
Working knowledge of food production/handling procedures and processes.
Demonstrable leadership, interpersonal, communication and management skills.
Competent in problem solving, team building and planning
Operating a PPT and driving a forklift.
A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
The ability to manage a variety of multi-skilled team members.
Manage the high levels of flexibility and short lead times, whilst maintaining service and performance.
Experience of lean manufacturing concepts and disciplines is an advantage.
