Summary
Database Administrator
Role:
Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure high performance, security, and availability. Develop and automate database processes to support business operations.
Responsibilities:
Database Administration:
1. Maintain and support SQL Server and MySQL databases.
2. Ensure database performance, security, and availability.
3. Troubleshoot database issues and implement fixes.
Automation:
1. Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, and T-SQL.
2. Automate database jobs and alerting systems.
Development:
1. Design and develop procedures and triggers for ERP systems.
2. Handle ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SSIS.
3. Manage large datasets (500GB+ weekly data).
Performance Optimization:
1. Perform index analysis and statistics updates.
2. Optimize database performance and query execution.
Security:
1. Implement database security measures, such as TDE (Transparent Data Encryption) and SSL.
2. Configure access auditing and ensure compliance with security policies.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in database administration, preferably with SQL Server and MySQL.
- Proficiency in automation scripting languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, and T-SQL.
- Experience with ETL tools, such as SSIS.
- Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
