About the role

A new opportunity has arisen for a Packaging Data Administrator to join the Quality team here at Tesco.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the packaging data that supports the development of packaging. Using insights to ensure that customers are central to what the business do, measuring success in accuracy, clarity and availability of packaging data.

This role would suit someone with an analytical and commercial mindset with a preference to having experience in the packaging industry.

You will be responsible for

  • Creating and tracking data and information that enables packaging change decisions and position statements
  • Work with data service providers to develop and own accurate, auditable data sets that can be use to ensure we meet legal packaging reporting obligations
  • Building, maintaining and developing our suite of insight and performance reports, providing the business with visibility of how packaging performs, in particular tracking KPI’s and celebrating positive packaging changes
  • Generating reports and using data to help packaging and category teams identify packaging change opportunities that support our sustainable packaging ambitions
  • Developing a deep understanding of packaging data, undertaking root cause analysis and establishing continuous improvements to processes and systems that support our customers, suppliers and other business teams
  • Providing accurate data to report our performance to interested stakeholders e.g. NGO’s, investors and customers
  • Building relationships across the business, and passionately promoting the packaging agenda
  • Measuring costs/environment benefits from the changes delivered by the team and develop future recommendations
  • Support with programme management, templates and develop improved ways for the team to access data
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and diligence

You will need

  • Working with data and an analytical mind
  • Presentation of data (visually and verbally)
  • Process and /or system improvement
  • Supplier and Stakeholder management
  • Packaging industry experience/knowledge (ideal but not essential)
  • Used to working cross-functionally
  • Used to work in a fast paced environment
