Summary
Role: Project Manager - Civil Works Programme
Position: Contract
Location: London / Suffolk
Duration: Until 31/12/2025, with rolling 12-month extensions
The Opportunity
We're looking for Project Managers to support the delivery of the Civil Works Programme at Sizewell C, a nationally significant infrastructure project that will replicate the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station design.
In this role, you'll:
- Lead and deliver civil engineering workstreams and supply chain packages (up to £50M)
- Drive SZC-specific design changes into executable contracts
- Maximise replication of HPC designs to de-risk the Final Investment Decision (FID)
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to meet cost, schedule and safety targets
- Engage early with key suppliers to identify risks such as obsolescence and schedule impacts
- Ensure effective interface and stakeholder management across internal and external partners
What We're Looking For
✅ Essential:
- Degree-qualified and Chartered in Project Management, Civil Engineering, Construction, or similar
- Demonstrable experience managing major, high-value infrastructure projects across their full lifecycle
- Strong understanding of construction delivery, design and procurement in large industrial/energy sectors
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management and project controls
- Proficiency in technical English (CEFR Level B2+)
✅ Desirable:
- Prior experience in nuclear sector projects
- Chartered Engineer and/or recognised project management certification (e.g. APM, PMP)
- Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks and permitting processes
