Description
The Compliance Data Officer (Grade I) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding data compliance and governance. In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, the need for stringent data compliance has never been more crucial. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively analyze data compliance risks, implement appropriate controls, and liaise with various departments to foster a culture of compliance within the organization. The Compliance Data Officer will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance metrics, ensuring that data handling practices align with legal standards, and contributing to continuous improvements in data management processes. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements in an understandable manner to non-technical staff. Responsibilities
Monitor and review data practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures related to data management.
Conduct audits and assessments to identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
Provide training and support to staff on data compliance issues and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance across all operations.
Stay updated on changes to legislation and regulations impacting data compliance and adjust policies accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as law, business, or information technology.
Proven experience in data compliance, risk management, or related roles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for diverse audiences.
Attention to detail with a keen focus on accuracy and thoroughness in work.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR or CCPA, is an advantage.
