Summary

A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Are you seeking a role where you can apply your creativity and compassion to support individuals with severe and enduring mental health difficulties? Do you thrive in multidisciplinary teams and value working in a supportive, diverse environment? If so, we invite you to become part of our dedicated team.

We are pleased to offer a part-time, permanent Assistant Psychologist position within our acute inpatient services in South Birmingham. This role presents an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in crisis.

The role offers the opportunity to deliver brief, low-intensity psychological interventions to service users within an acute inpatient setting, in both group and one-to-one formats. Interventions will follow established protocols and be carried out under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. You will also be actively involved in ward-based activities, including daily safety and risk huddles, and will work closely with nurses, healthcare assistants, occupational therapists, and other members of the wider multidisciplinary team. In addition to clinical work, you will have the chance to contribute to service evaluation and development projects, supporting the continuous improvement of psychological care within the service.

Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and of working cross-culturally is desirable. We are also interested in applicants with previous experience of running groups and in working on inpatient wards.
