Traffic Engineer (PO3)

Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traffic Engineer (PO3) to join our dynamic team dedicated to enhancing transportation systems and improving public safety. As a Traffic Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing traffic patterns, designing traffic control devices, and recommending improvements to existing roadways. Your expertise will be crucial in developing a robust transportation infrastructure that accommodates the needs of a growing population while ensuring the efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including city officials, urban planners, and the community, to assess traffic issues and devise solutions that enhance mobility and minimize congestion. Your responsibilities will include conducting traffic studies, performing capacity analysis, and utilizing state-of-the-art software to model traffic flow. You will also be responsible for preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively. Responsibilities
Conduct traffic studies and analyses to identify safety and operational issues.
Design traffic signal systems and other control measures to improve traffic flow.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholder reviews.
Perform capacity analysis and modeling to evaluate roadway performance.
Collaborate with city planners and engineers to integrate traffic solutions into urban designs.
Review and provide recommendations for private development traffic impact studies.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal traffic regulations and standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related field.
Proficient in traffic modeling software such as Synchro, VISSIM, or similar applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex concepts to stakeholders.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
