Summary
Work Pattern
Your contracted hours each week throughout your apprenticeship will be 37 hours Monday - Friday. In this role you can expect to have to travel up 20% of your working hours.

This role is based at Parker Meggitt’s Fareham Site. It is recommended that you live within a commutable distance of this location.
Key Responsibilities
Email Monitoring & Support: Support the HR team by monitoring and responding to emails in the shared inbox, offering support, advice, and guidance to those in need.
Standard HR Administration: Assist with standard HR practices, such as administration for new starters, leavers' processes, personal information updates, payroll, and security checks.
Sickness & Absence Administration: Support the HR team with sickness administration, well-being activities, and absence controls.
HR Systems Administration: Assist with the administration and implementation of HR systems, understanding how these integrate globally and regionally within the business.
Policy & System Review: Aid the HR Manager in reviewing and revising the Business Management System and associated policies linked to the employee journey.
Talent Acquisition Support: Provide administrative support to Talent Acquisition, learning the process of attracting and selecting new hires. Help organise interviews, provide candidate feedback, and assist candidates with any queries.
Employee Engagement Support: Work with the wider Parker Meggitt HR community to support employee engagement initiatives, including Business Resource Groups, which play a key role in engagement efforts.
Business Understanding: Gain insight into the business structure, products, services, and the wider Parker Meggitt workforce.

Apprentice salaries increase annually with experience and are reviewed each September, depending on individual performance. Apprentices are also included in Parker Meggitt's bonus scheme, receiving a minimum of 2.5%, which may increase depending on overall company performance.

Training
Alongside your day role, you will work to complete your apprenticeship with your external training provider, Crosby. This will give you the knowledge, training and external approval to do your job effectively.

5 x GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.

Be at least 16 years old when the apprenticeship begins.
Have the right to work in the UK.
Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for at least the past three years prior to starting the apprenticeship.
Have completed full-time education before the apprenticeship is due to start.

High level of accuracy in processing documents, maintaining records, and preparing reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
Ability to provide support and assistance to employees regarding HR-related enquiries and issues in a professional manner.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team, contributing positively to group efforts and supporting colleagues in HR initiatives.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing HR practices, technologies, and organisational needs.
Ability to analyse issues that arise within the HR function and develop effective solutions.

Upon successful completion of the programme — and subject to performance — you may have the opportunity to move into a permanent role within the team or business area where you completed your apprenticeship.
